Longevity & healthy ageing

Strength, endurance, independence, sustainable habits and prevention.

These pathways are useful without using any molecule. They provide general educational guidance and are never instructions for using PHL products.

Understand the goal

Healthy ageing mainly means preserving the abilities needed to live according to one’s priorities: moving, deciding, learning, maintaining relationships and carrying out meaningful activities. No supplement or molecule guarantees a longer life.

The fundamentals

Strength supports daily tasks; endurance supports mobility and cardiovascular health; balance reduces fall risk. Adequate varied food, sleep and social connection contribute to overall capacity. Prevention includes vaccination, screening and risk-factor management with qualified professionals.

  • Combine suitable strength, endurance and balance work each week.
  • Maintain meaningful social and intellectual activities.
  • Review prevention, medicines, vision and hearing regularly with professionals.

Practical guideposts

Choose habits simple enough to last: walk regularly, rise from a chair, carry suitable loads, practise balance near stable support and maintain social appointments. Progress is measured in function, not biomarkers alone.

Build a sustainable approach

A useful longevity approach turns a vague intention into concrete abilities to preserve: climbing stairs, carrying groceries, walking to a familiar place or staying engaged in a social activity. Choosing two or three functional benchmarks helps track what truly matters. Progression should respect health, experience and a safe environment, particularly for balance. Habits integrate better when linked to an existing routine and shared with others. Periodically reviewing goals prevents pursuing a number no longer connected to quality of life. Medical prevention complements this approach; neither a biological test nor a product replaces it.

Track your progress

Observe walking pace, ease of standing, endurance on a familiar route, balance and independence in chosen activities. An experimental biomarker may interest researchers without proving reduced disease, disability or mortality.

Common mistakes

  • Reduce longevity to a test or supplement.
  • Neglect strength and balance for endurance alone.
  • Confuse a changed biomarker with clinical benefit.
  • Increase activity abruptly without considering current capacity.

When to seek professional advice

A professional can adapt activity after falls, frailty, chronic disease, pain, unintended weight loss or new difficulty with daily activities. Risk factors are monitored with the care team.

Sources & level of evidence

Functional benefits of physical activity and appropriate prevention are well established. “Anti-ageing” interventions based on one biomarker often remain investigational or uncertain regarding clinical benefit.
